For the last week most of my childern have been gone, Pat was in and out mostly for food and sleep, Sarah, Nolan, and Kathryn were at camp, and Conner spent some time at Grandma's. Leaving us with only Aidan for most of the week.
I thought that it would be great to have them all gone the same week and have only one child. In some ways it was fun we went out for dinner a couple of times, did not have to fight for computers, and only had to watch Dora and Thomas the train.
But I was lost, I had no idea how to cook for 2 1/2 people, Aidan had no playmates and was as lost as I was. I did get some cleaning done but I didn't feel all there. I think it would have been worse but I did go visiting to Niagara Falls.
Now they are all home and the world is right. There is noise again in my home, dish washer running, fighting about the TV. Kids coming up to me to discuss things, meals to prepare, childern to care for.
We are doing this again in two weeks DH, and Conner and Nolan are going to Boy Scout Camp and Sarah and Pat are going to AFRC Teen summit in Georiga. Leaving me with Kathryn and Aidan, but at least Kathyrn can make up for a few kids and I might get to borrow my sisters kids.
It's a good thing that when they finally leave they do so one at a time.
